The artificial lake is a pleasure to be beside, whether you are sightseeing during a holiday, an in-line skater or enjoying the possibilities which the water provides. It is a famous spot outside the boundaries of Essen. Many locals also like to relax here. By boat you will be able to enjoy the Baldeneysee and its marvelous surroundings in the best way possible.
The water is of major importance in Essen. The Sailing Week in Essen, which is an annual event starting early in September, offers exciting regattas and many activities and information on the art of sailing.

In just a couple of minutes walking you can find the 'Ruhrland', the 'Folkwang' museum and the 'Grugapark'.
